Christmas is coming soon, and therefore, I decided to write a post on this blog about what the Hilltop School kindergarteners do for Christmas. It has been a long time since I wrote my last post to this blog, and I apologize profusely for the delay.
I am going to write another script, this time for a Christmas-themed movie based on Timothy Goes To School. The working title of the movie is A Merry Hilltop Christmas.
I would like some help deciding on the plot of this movie. If any of you want to suggest a plot summary for A Merry Hilltop Christmas, please submit it as a comment to this post.

If The Hilltop School Students Were Superheroes…
If Timothy Goes To School had a spin-off in which all twelve of the students, except the Franks, become superheroes, then I would speculate that the Franks would be villains, and the other ten students would have the following superhero names and superpowers:
Timothy: Goggle Boy; superpower: seeing through illusions
Claude: Gargantu-Man; superpower: growing to 8 times his normal size
Doris: Flashfoot; superpower: superhuman running speed
Grace: Razor Cat; superpower: slash claws as sharp as katana
Yoko: Girlwind; superpower: generating a cyclone-like force field
Lilly: Flyer Fox; superpower: flying through the air at any altitude
Charles: Micro Mouse; superpower: shrinking to 1/8 his normal size
Fritz: Foggius; superpower: transforming into fog
Nora: Sonica; superpower: a deafening supersonic screech
Juanita: Warper Woman; superpower: teleportation

Timothy Goes To Polywood
For quite a long time, I have wondered what computer games, if any, people would make based on Timothy Goes To School. I have two such ideas. The first one is a computer game called Timothy’s Table Tournament, which I will describe no further on this post.* The second one is called Hilltop Havoc!, which, for the first time ever, will depict the Timothy Goes To School characters in 3D.
To render the characters and locations in 3D, I suggest developing a program called Polywood. Polywood will be a 3D drawing program that will allow people to generate 3D renderings of 2D images. Before one can render the images in 3D, however, I will need to contact Corus Entertainment to request copies of the official Timothy Goes To School artwork. Requesting the official artwork from Corus Entertainment is the best way to get the most references for use with Polywood. I will need as many references as possible to get a good idea of how to render them in 3D.
As for the mechanics of Hilltop Havoc, it will feature BOTH 1-player (Solo Quest) AND 2-player (Co-Op Quest) adventure modes. In Solo Quest, players will get to play as any of the twelve Hilltop School students except the Franks. In Co-Op Quest, however, player 1 will ALWAYS play as Frank #1, and player 2 will ALWAYS play as Frank #2.
As for the plot of the game, the player(s) will start the adventure in the house of whichever character(s) he/she/they selected, and he/she/they will assume the perspective of that/those character(s).
* = I will describe Timothy’s Table Tournament in a future post.

Which Way Does The School Bus Go?
If there were a Japanese dub of Timothy Goes To School, every shot that included a car, a truck, a bus, etc. would be a horizontal reflection of the corresponding shot in the original. This is because in Japan, people drive on the left instead of on the right, as in Canada and the United States. Here are four examples of such mirror-image pairs:
The former two pairs of images come from episode 101-A, Timothy Goes To School. The latter two pairs of images come from episode 103-A, Small Change.

If There Were A Japanese Dub…
Currently, there is NO Japanese dub of Timothy Goes To School, so I am going to make a fan-made Japanese sub instead. Here are the translations of the show title and the episode titles:
朝が来た!目を覚ませ! (Asa ga kita! Me o samase!)
学校の時だ! (Gakkou no toki da!)
先生が助けるよ! (Sensei ga tasukeru yo!)
全てが楽しい! (Subete ga tanoshī!)
ティモシーの友達と (Timoshī no tomodachi to)
多い物を学べ! (Ōi koto o manabe!)
冒険が多くて、 (Bouken ga ōkute,)
レッスンがいい! (Ressun ga ī!)
学童達が (Gakudou-tachi ga)
待っているよ! (Matte iru yo!)
学校へようこそ! (Gakkou e youkoso!)
冒険が多くて、 (Bouken ga ōkute,)
学校へようこそ! (Gakkou e youkoso!)
Here is a lyrical back-translation:
It’s the morning sun, so wake up right now,
For it’s time to go to school now!

My Favorite Character
The screenshot below* is of my favorite Timothy Goes To School character, Lilly.
There are three reasons that Lilly is my favorite character, and those reasons are as follows:
**Note 2: In episode 104-A, Don’t Lose It Lilly, Lilly constantly loses her possessions, hence the title of the episode. Throughout the show, however, she gets better at remembering where she puts them and loses them less often.
***Note 3: On Timothy Goes To School, Lilly’s voice actor is Margaret Ruffman (credited as Mag Ruffman).
There are three reasons that Lilly is my favorite character, and those reasons are as follows:
- She makes her debut in the Timothy Goes To School TV show, NOT in ANY of Rosemary Wells’s books.
- I can empathize with her the most easily: sometimes, she forgets where she puts her things**, just like me.
- I find her the most likable, because she is very sweet. I love her heart of gold, her sunny personality, and her sweet voice***.

How Long Is A Year At Hilltop School?
Whereas the question in the title of this post may sound ridiculous to some, it is NOT. I already know that in the Gregorian calendar, a year is 365.2425 CALENDAR days EXACTLY. I ALSO already know that the orbital period of Earth is NOT an integer number of calendar days OR of rotation periods of Earth. I EVEN already know that the rotation period of Earth is less than 24 hours. However, NONE of the three preceding facts is the point of the question. The point of the question is as follows: In Timothy Goes To School, how long is an academic year in relation to a seasonal cycle?
My current speculation is that an academic year is equal in length to two seasonal cycles. The evidence I cite here includes the following facts about the show or its episodes: Between the events of episode 113-B, Fritz On The Move, and episode 201-A, Many Happy Returns, the students have a vacation. Furthermore, BOTH before AND after Fritz’s departure and subsequent return, autumn, winter, and spring occur. If my speculation is correct, then that means that EITHER the seasonal cycle in the area in which Hilltop School is located is ridiculously short, OR the academic year at Hilltop School is ridiculously long.
If you would like to offer your speculation OR confirm or correct mine WITH CANON, please leave a comment on this blog post.

Nora’s Outfit
In Timothy Goes To School, Nora, the female mouse, wears two different non-seasonal outfits to Hilltop School.
Above is a screenshot of Nora in her regular school outfit. Below is a screenshot of Nora in her alternate school outfit, which she wears only in episode 103-A, Small Change.
I believe that Nora looks better in her alternate school outfit. What about you? If you would like to vote on which of Nora’s outfits shown here looks better, please post a comment.

Who Voiced Ms. Appleberry?
I’m trying to catalog every voice actor for every character on Timothy Goes To School. I already know who voiced Mrs. Jenkins, Henry, and all twelve students. However, I have yet to find out who voiced Ms. Appleberry.
Ms. Appleberry is Hilltop School’s student teacher. She also serves as Mrs. Jenkins’s assistant in co-curricular activities (e.g. Class Picnic Day and field trips) and as a substitute teacher.
In Timothy Goes To School, she appeared only in the following episodes:
No. 102-A: On The Fritz (as a music teacher)
No. 102-B: The Great Obstacle Course (as Mrs. Jenkins’s assistant for Class Picnic Day)
No. 105-A: Paint By Numbers (as a docent at the art museum)
No. 108-A: Scary Monsters (as a docent at the science museum)
No. 111-A: Taking The Plunge (as Mrs. Jenkins’s assistant for Swim Day)
No. 112-B: Get Well Soon (as a substitute teacher)
No. 204-B: Having A Wonderful Time* (as a tour guide at Hilltop Park)
* = CAMEO ONLY
Her voice actor in episode 102 is different from her voice actor in episodes 105-A, 108-A, 111-A, and 112-B. I speculate that her first voice actor (for episode 102) was Catherine Disher and that her second voice actor (for the other episodes) was Karen Bernstein.
If any of you would like to counter my current speculation with your own, OR to confirm OR correct it WITH CANON, please do so in the comment box below.

Questions & Speculation
As I watched Timothy Goes To School on my laptop episode by episode, I noticed that the show leaves many questions unanswered. Among those questions are the following:
Regarding the characters’ full names:
Regarding Lilly’s former home: Where did Lilly live before she went to Hilltop School?
Regarding the absence of specific characters from specific episodes:
Here is my speculation on the questions not marked with an asterisk (*):
Regarding the characters’ full names:
- What is Mrs. Jenkins’s first name?
- What is Ms. Appleberry’s first name?
- What is Henry’s last name?
- What are the students’ last names?
- What are their full names?
- Where is Yoko’s father?
- Where is Claude’s mother?
- Where is Fritz’s father?
- Where is Lilly’s father?
- Where is the Franks’ mother?
Regarding Lilly’s former home: Where did Lilly live before she went to Hilltop School?
Regarding the absence of specific characters from specific episodes:
- Why is Fritz absent from episode 105-A, Paint By Numbers?
- Why is Lilly absent from episode 109-A, Red Thunder?
- Why is Lilly absent from episode 112-A, The Treefort & The Sandcastle?
Here is my speculation on the questions not marked with an asterisk (*):
- The full name of the permanent teacher of Hilltop School is Anna Jenkins.
- The full name of the student teacher / substitute teacher is Jane Appleberry.
- The full name of the bus driver / custodian / P. E. coach is Henry Watson, after his voice actor, Jamie Watson.
- Timothy’s last name is Eisenmann; Yoko, Sakurada; Grace, Zipparo; Claude, Bertrand; Doris, Riley; Nora, Mauer; Charles, Lind; Fritz, van Bruggen (after John van Bruggen, a co-writer for episode 210-A, Professor Fritz); Lilly, Flores; Juanita, Guerrero; and the Franks: Pratt.
- I have no speculation on the first names of the students’ parents at this time.
- Yoko’s parents are divorced; Yoko’s father is still alive and lives in Japan.
- Someone killed or kidnapped Claude’s mother.
- Fritz’s parents are separated, but still married; Fritz’s father lives with his daughter, Tiffany, who is Fritz’s sister.
- Lilly’s father died shortly after Lilly was born.
- The Franks’ mother died while giving birth.
- Lilly was born in the Philippines, so she lived there before she went to Hilltop School.
- I have no speculation on the reason for Fritz’s absence from episode 105-A at this time.
- Lilly does not have a bike; therefore, she was not eligible to participate in Hilltop School’s Bicycle Fun & Safety Day, so she had an alternate assignment, so that she could still go to school and earn credit for it.
- Lilly was sick during the events of episode 112-A, so either Mrs. Jenkins or Ms. Appleberry arranged for Lilly to be able to do her required schoolwork at home.
